The business was established way back in 1975 and for the past nine years has been Hamills. We focus on hunting (including paintball), fishing and diving. We employ specialist staff who are not only very knowledgeable about the gear we stock but are out there using it every weekend and probably on their 'sick days' as well. Hunting in Nelson includes red and fallow deer, chamois, thar, pigs, goats and other small game. Pheasant, duck and other game birds are also available in season. In the water we have brown and rainbow trout as well as a small salmon fishery. White baiting is also very popular here. In the sea we have a great many species including snapper, kingfish, groper and a variety of tuna. Crayfish are here in abundance and there is talk of a marlin fishery in the Cook Strait.
